Administrative law

In the area of administrative law (environmental and planning law), we assist public sector service providers, businesses and private individuals. Our services cover general administrative law, legal compliance, town and country planning (zoning plans, building permits), environmental law, and EU law (public procurement and competition law). Many cases involve aspects of both public and private law. Our services include:

Advising on

  • permits, permit conditions, and changes to same
  • regulations, powers, and the way in which they are applied
  • administrative enforcement (administrative fines, orders with conditional penalty payments, collection of penalties)
  • initiate and handle EU and other public procurement projects and related issues/disputes
  • agreements between public sector bodies (covenants)
  • compensation for losses arising from planning decisions
  • general principles of proper administration 
  • civil service law

Contracts

  • PPPs (public-private partnerships), exploitation contracts, franchises, contracts for services
  • litigation (including before the Administrative Division of the Dutch Council of State):
  • litigation involving any of these matters, including obtaining preliminary relief

Mediation

  • mediation of disputes between public sector service providers or between public sector services providers and businesses and/or private clients or, at the government's request, between businesses and/or between businesses and private clients, such as in environmental or project development cases
